Hi, everyone.

Could I say the follwing sentence?

By the time I arrive home, I have eaten dinner.

can this sentence be interpreted as I usually have eaten dinner already outside home(like in a restaurant), before I arrive home?

"by the time" and "before" sometimes both are the same, but other times they are different, so I asked it.

They are rarely exactly the same. 'By the time' has the idea of 'no later than when'.
