How do people express take the transportation? The expression can be:

I go there by car / by taking a car / by riding in a car/ by taking a ride in a car/ in a car/..... Are these all acceptable? Or there are some different timing to use them? Also, can we say " I ride on a plane/a train/ a bus"?

I go (there) by car. / I go (there) in a car. / I drive there. (I drive the car.) / I ride with a friend. (The friend drives the car.)

When several people go to work in one car to save money, it's called "ride-sharing".
