Hi Can anybody explain what does the writer mean by "by Judas" at the following sentences? I have never heard "by Judas". They say Usually "by God", not "by Judas". Judas was a Jesus's disciple who betrayed him. How can somebody tell "by Judas?" In a crisis a man must be prepared to stand alone, and actually standing alone is the kind of thing I’m good at. I was thinking, “By Judas, I should be good, considering how experienced I am in going it by myself.”
Top answer
I think that "By Judas" is just a general-purpose oath.
