I am having trouble using increments and interval. Could you tell me what you think is best and are they interchangeable please? Should I have changed anything?

The GPS tells us when we arrive our destination. Once we are 5 minutes away, the time counts down in 5-second increments/at 5-second intervals: 5:00, 4:55, 4:50, 4:45, etc.

Diopters are in increments of .25. so you can't have a prescription of -4.35.

Rain drops hit the surface at shorter intervals when the surface area is smaller.

That seems OK to me either way.

"Inintervals" is wrong there. "Interval" is not as good as "increment" there. "Interval" is more like a span, and "increment" is more like a step.

"Raindrop" is one word. I'm having trouble with the sense of that. It seems to me that a smaller area would have fewer drops and therefore not as frequent if they are random. But supposing it makes sense, it seems strained. The average interval between drops is shorter. "Increment" does not work.

I think you set an alarm "for" a time. I set the alarm for five-minute intervals. An interval is a span.

Does "I set the alarm for five-minute intervals" mean "I set the alarm for 8:30, 8:35, 8:40 so I would be sure to wake up"?

Is that how you would have phrased it?
