Hi Enoon,

I am having trouble using increments and interval. Could you tell me what you think is best and are they interchangeable please? Should I have changed anything?

The GPS tells us when we arrive our destination. Once we are 5 minutes away, the time counts down in 5-second increments/at 5-second intervals: 5:00, 4:55, 4:50, 4:45, etc.

That seems OK to me either way.

Could you please explain to me how to choose the word because here again I am not sure.

I set the alarm at 5-minute intervals. I set it at 6:30, 6:35, and 6:40 in case I don't wake up on/at/with the first alarm.

Intervals are distances; increments are additions.

Mister Micawber, you said that interval are distances and increments are additions. Enoon said you can use both in the below what would you have said?

Hello Enoon, Just to clear up,

I think you set an alarm "for" a time. I set the alarm for five-minute intervals. An interval is a span.

Does "I set the alarm for five-minute intervals" mean "I set the alarm for 8:30, 8:35, 8:40 so I would be sure to wake up"?

Is that how you would have phrased it?

What do you think about increments here?
I set the alarm
