By far....

Hi,

I have a question about the use of "by far". Is by far only used for superlatives? Is this sentence okay?

The books I'm reading for history class are more interesting by far than the ones I'm reading for science.

Thank you.

As for your example, is it possible, again, to shift "by far" back after
