by bus

Hi,

In response to questions like "How do you get here?", as far as I know you can use "by + vehicle" and no article is needed between "by" and "vehicle".

e.g. I came here by bus

But what about when you use "catch" or "take"? I have been saying "I catch bus" or "I take train". Do you need an article (e.g. a/an, the) between "catch" and "vehicle"?

e.g. I catch a bus

I've got one more question. Can I say "Catch you later?" instead of "See you later"?

Thanks in advance.

Take the train, take a train, catch a bus, catch the bus -- all of these are okay.
