By a minibus

Sir,

1.We will drive to Goa by a minibus.

Mostly, we use "by bus" or "by minibus".No article between "by" and "a means of transport".

Is (1) correct?

Thanks

No article; #1 is not correct. If there is an article, the idiomatic 'by --' is no longer possible. 'By bus/train/plane/bicycle/binibus' vs 'on a bus/plane/train/bicycle' or 'in a car/taxi/minibus' -- the choice is yours.

As Mr M noted, it is not possible for this meaning, Hanuman. We use the article in this type of situation;

He was struck by a minibus as he was walking along the sidewalk.
