Buy us sth=buy ourselves sth?

Compare these two sentences.
1. We bought us English dictionaries.
2. We bought ourselves English dictionaries.
Some argue that sentence 2 is not is not correct if we use "ourselve". I doubt that. I think both sentences are correct and they have the same meaning. Am I right?
