Nowadays, many people buy things excessively. Why? Do the advantages outweigh the disadvantages?
These days, the issue of purchasing excessively has been concerning. There are some reasons for this trend, and although the benefits are clear, in my opinion, I strongly believe that the drawbacks of this habit are far more significant.
There are numerous reasons why people buy a lot of items. First, since the standard of living is improved, the demand for purchasing more goods is growing. This means more citizens could afford to buy what they love. Second, by following well-known celebrities, a majority of people is enticed to squander their budget on the brands that their idols endorse. This means that these fans merely buy things for the sake of pleasing their respected idols and getting closer to them without the actual needs.
However, the inevitable downsides of purchasing daily stuffs with higher frequency and larger quantity outweigh the advantages. First, since consumers spend money buying items that are not necessary, this causes time- and-money wasting. Moreover, the outstanding drawback of this issue is affecting negatively on the environment. In order to produce more products, huge resources need utilizing, which leads to resource depletion. Finally, by purchasing things excessively, more waste would be created, which might be detrimental to the ecosystem.
In conclusion, although buying a lot of items could have certain positive impacts on customers and the economy of a nation, the downsides of this trend could be more considerable.
