buts/just what's so

Hi

1. Most other philosophers think Kant was buts on this point. what does it mean that he was "buts."

2. But as is often the case when someone develops too narrow a focus he mistakes his enthusiasm with his own viewpoint for the nature of reality - or even just what's so. What does this mean in this context?
