From a book about magic:

A clove of garlic placed somewhere in the car provides protection, but unless you're a diehard fan of the odoriferous bulb, I wouldn't recommend using this in the car.

I understand it says that if you don't like using any scents in the car then you shouldn't place garlic in it either?
