In my opinion, but would be much better in that sentence. You can also use yet. You can even use however, nevertheless, nonetheless, notwithstanding, but I think that, with these particles, you'd have to add a comma after them.

Though and although have the same meaning, but they're slightly different from the particles I've indicated

Both 'but' and 'although' work. They do work differently; however, it doesn't affect this sentence. 'Though' just doesn't fit well for this sentence for me.

HalfMoon, I disagree about differentiating though and although. What is the difference between them? Why should we not use though in this sentence, yet there is no problem about although? I also think though and although wouldn't be bad here, but but would be better, I think.
