I'm making a description of items to be sold but I think it's too wordy if I use: These were (or are?) supposed to be used in a project but the project was cancelled. so I'm now in a dilemma on which of the two sentences is correct:
These were supposed to be used in a project that was cancelled. These were supposed to be used in a project but [it] was cancelled.
Anyway, if you could rephrase my original sentence to a better one, please do so.
