Hi Everyone,

I would like to know whether to use but, or whereas in the following sentence.

I don't have tolerance but my sister does. or

I don't have tolerance, whereas my sister does.

  • In your example they're equivalent.
  • "whereas" is a higher class word, but other than that, either one is fine.
