But more specifically - correct grammar?

I have the following sentence:

"It is a film about the Crimean War, but more specifically about Florence Nightingale."

I'm a little confused about the "but more specifically" structure. Is the usage here correct? Is the "but" redundant? Does this grammar construction have a name?

Any answers to these questions would be highly appreciated. Thanks for taking a look.
