But I want some shirt

At a clothing store

---------------------

Store Keeper: Yes, make up your mind. Decide what you want.
Boy: Oh ... I want a sweater, but I want some shirt, some pants,
some socks, some shoes.

---------------------

What does "but" mean in this sentence?

Does it mean "besides" or something else?

Thank you?

Firstly, it would have to be 'some shirts'. ' as it would make more sense that way. It seems as though the statement is 'I want a sweater' and then a list of a few more things that he would like, suggesting the sweater is the first / most important thing that he can think of but there are other things that he'd like as well.
