I have a question regarding grammar.. Whenever I, or most of the people around me, say we're going to a store we add an s (or 's), I guess to show ownership. An example of this: "I'll be going to Hannaford's later, do you need anything while I'm there?". The company here being Hannaford. Is it correct to add that extra s, or would that be bad grammar? I think of it like, "I'm going to Hannaford's (store)". Hopefully thats not confusing..

No, the 's' is not needed unless the name of the place ends with 's'. Eg, I'm going to McDonald's.

And it's also very idiomatic. It's the cleaner's, but the bank. I've got a bunch of errands to run. I've got to stop by the post office, the bank, the dry cleaner's, and then do a little shopping at Hannaford's and still have to be back in time to drive Jim to get his car
