Hi, I am a bit confused with articles before methods of transportation. E.g. "I take the bus" = not a specific one, but it's like the bus system.
If I take three buses to school. Bus 1 from my home to the nearest village. Bus 2 from the village to the town. And then another to my school. So three buses.
I arrive in my school and say this: "I am late because I got stuck on a bus."
Can I use "a bus like that?" Is it correct? Because there were three buses. If I say "the bus", it's ok because it's the bus system". But "a bus" I want to say because I want to imply that it's one of the three i take. Does it make sense?
" Is it correct? Yes. Or 'the bus'.

No, it doesn't imply that. It simply means any bus.
