Burn out appliance

How would you write this please?

If you over voltage your appliance, you could burn the appliance out. If your appliance is 230 voltages, don't put it in a socket of 240 voltages. You could burn it.

Thanks

If you connect your appliance to a line that carries higher voltage than is recommended, your appliance could burn out. If your appliance is designed to run at 230 volts, don't plug it into a 240-volt socket. You could burn it out.

Not a lot, no. The difference has much, much more to do with idiomatic usage.

Yes, that's it. I've just had a thorough look at both texts and now I can see that your text is much better.
