Bully

Hi,

Are the following sentences natural to a native ear?

1. He would go around and bully other kids when the teacher was not around.

2. He would poke us from behind when were trying / tried to listen to the teacher.

3. We just hoped that we would get in a different class when we go to the next grade.

Thanks,

MG.
