Hi,
1) The bulk of the ads were made up of .... or The bulk of the ads was made up of."
Are both possible depending on whether I put an emphasis on 'bulk' or 'ads' or should I stick to the plural form?
2) I came across this sentence in a math question written by an English native speaker.
"There is a hole at the bottom of the bucket." Shouldn't it be 'in the bottom'?
Thank you.
Ann225 1) The bulk of the ads were made up of .... Fine. 'bulk' is "number transparent", which means agreement is with the noun phrase after "of".
