Build and construct

Could you please explain the difference between these two words for me? Are they absolutely interchangable or it depends on the thing constructed or built?
Thanks in advance.

The idea is the same, and they are often interchangeable (with 'construct' more formal), but they also figure in many contexts when only one will serve: We build relationships, friendships, confidence, etc. We construct elaborate ruses. geometrical figures, etc.
