Hello everybody.
I am reading 'Little Women'. In some parts of the novel , the girls have buckwheats. By buckwheats, do they mean bread or a cake?
I do wish Hannah would put more starch in my aprons and have buckwheats everyday.
And another question, what does rooms mean in the following?
' Jo run to the rooms and tell Mrs King that I can't come. On the way get these things.
Thanks so much for the help ????

Probably the rooms where the King family lives — possibly hotel rooms.
Possibly, but much less likely, the rooms of an office where Mr King works.
It's hard to say exactly, but the point is that the speaker can't meet Mrs King at some previously arranged meeting place not disclosed in this passage of the novel.
