Does this make sense? How would you phrase this?

Brush your hair along/against the grain from the part.

Grain isn't a word I associate with hair. I think what you want is simply brush your hair away from the part . where the hair ends up all frizzy.

Grain isn't a word I associate with hair. I think what you want is simply brush your hair away from the part. I seem to remember the term "ratting" to mean the opposite...where the hair ends up all frizzy.
