Brunswick- How to pronounce it ?

Why do we pronounce Brunswick? How come we pronounce it as "brunsick"?

I've always pronounced it Brunswick. I've never heard it pronounced otherwise in the US, maybe in Britain or Canada? Not sure.

I also have not heard of anyone pronouncing it "brunsick".

I hear it as "bruns-wick" - where the last part sounds like "wick" in "candle wick."
