Brought vs took

I am hearing the phrase "I brought the object to him",instead of "I took the object to him". Which is correct?

Top answer

They are both possible. "took" is the more straightforward way of saying it. "brought" seems to transfer the viewpoint of the sentence to the location of the other person.
