Bro/prep

Hi all,

Two words that pop up a lot in articles about men's fashion are 'bro' and 'prep'. 'Prep' I think refers to preparatory school students in the US. But I am not familiar with American culture. Can anyone give some descriptions of what is refered to as a 'bro' and a 'prep'. Any negative or positive connotations?

Thanks in advance.

I think it might be a fraternity brother, which would be somebody who went to a prep school and is now drinking his way through college. I seem to remember an Onion piece that might make it clearer. Let me try to find it...
