Broken glass

Hi,
Let's suppose we have a stituation like this:

A glass has been broken and there are many small pieces on the floor.

I want to say to somebody who wants to come into the kitchen:

"Don't go in, a piece of glass can ..... into your foot."

Which verb can I use in the above sentence?

Thanks for answers.

Hi TMN

I suppose you could say that a piece of glass might get stuck in your foot, but that's not the sort of thing people usually say in such a situation. Usually people will say things such as this:

- Don't go in the kitchen. There's broken glass on the floor.
- Don't go in the kitchen. I wouldn't want you to cut your foot on the broken glass.

Something like this:
Don't go into the kitchen, you'll cut your feet on the glass.
