Broke from the crowd

One of the protesters suddenly broke from the crowd and ran at a group of officers.

Does 'broke from' fit the context or does it not sound sudden and forceful enough? Would eg. 'broke out of' or 'burst from' be better options?

anonymous Does 'broke from' fit the context or does it not sound sudden and forceful enough? It's perfect, except for the absurd, redundant, comically amateurish "suddenly".
