Britain/the United Kingdom/the Great Britain

Could you tell me which one is okay of (A)~(C) in the following sentence?

He comes from [(A) Britain/(B) the United Kingdom(or the UK)/(C) the Great Britain].

Can (C) sound pretentious? Which one is the most common among them?

2. I referred to all of them as a nation, not the the island of Britain. Can't the 'Britain' be another name for Great Britain or United Kingdom?

When referring to the United Kingdom by its full name or initials, always include the, first. Britain is
