BRISK return?

Hi
Can I use the adjective "brisk" in association with the word "return"? Does it sound natural? If not, what's more suitable one (fast, quick, swift)? Note I would like a formal register, not colloquial.

Here's a possible context:

"After a whole decade of dictatorship, the people hoped for the BRISK RETURN of the man who had given them democracy."
