Bringing up children - what is typical of your country?

Hello :-)

I have a 4 years old son, his name is Adam. I am a mother for the very firt time :-D and I am intrested in tendecies in bringing up children in different countries. Could You tell me something about your observations?

Even my own brother and I have different views about how to handle certain situations, and since we were raised by the same parents in the same community, you would perhaps expect us to have more similar ways to handle things.
