Bring to perfection

Hi,

Can you bring something to perfection?

“I hope that one day I’ll be able to bring my mathematical skills to perfection.”

Thank you.

In my opinion that is OK. Of course, you can just say "perfect my mathematical skills", but I'm sure you know that.

Yes, but simpler is to say “I hope that one day I’ll be able to perfect my mathematical skills.”

But are mathematical skills something that can be called 'perfect'? What would that mean? eg Would you be able to solve all the mathematical problems that great mathematicians have wrestled with for centuries?
