bring forth a man

With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a man.

Is "brought forth a man" meant "bear a man" here?
Why here use "man" rather than "boy"

In other versions it is translated as 'manchild'. Many translations (if they are not actually old) put on a veneer of old language.
