Bring (definition of)

This is the definition of "bring" from English Grammar Today (Cambridge Dictionary):

Bring means moving something or someone. The movement is either from where the listener is to where the speaker is, or from the speaker to the listener.

I don't understand the meaning of the part in bold. Would you please explain it further giving a few examples?
