bright ideas to brighten lessons

No matter how keen and talented you are, or how well you have prepared a relevant lesson, there are times when your class is just tired or not in the right mood. I'm talking primarily about working adults on courses in their own countries. You might put in loads of energy but it gets drained up.
Rather than abandon everything, a short' revivor' activity can blow away the cobwebs and kick-start interest. Does anyone have any tried and tested ideas? They must be suitable for adults (not childish or too 'weird'), challenging and accessible, can be adapted to a variety of levels, require no scissors or photocopies or anything else that prevent spontaneous use.

Yesterday in class (beginning level), some of my students were omitting "a" in saying "I have a pen". They would say "I have pen."
So I had them (7 in the class) all stand up. Then we chanted and danced in place to the rhythm:" I --- have --- uh" (with stress on the "uh"). Then "uh-uh-uh".
