why the function of "it" in the following sentence can't be "anticipatory it"?: "It is nice to meet you"
My teacher told me that the reason was because when you replace "it" with what is told later in the sentence (this is why it's called "anticipatory it", because it anticipates) it doesn't make any sense, for example:
"To meet you is nice" But why it doesn't make any sense?, my teacher also told me because the subject is after the verb or something like that, but what is the verb in the sentence, "meet" or "is"?
