brick layer? lier? or laier?

If layed is inappropriate for the term of placing bricks or stones down in a pattern, what would be the appropriate usage for the job function of doing this aspect of landscaping? Would the person doing this activity be refered to as a brick layer, brick lier, or brick laier?
