Breath on

Does this make sense? Is it correct?
If you blow/breath on a mirror it will get steamy.

In the literal sense of water vapor, "steamy" is applied to volumes like rooms:

"I turned on the hot water, and the bathroom got steamy."

For two-dimensional surfaces, use "steamed up":

"I blew on the mirror and it steamed up."

If you breathe on a mirror, it will fog up.
