How do I break up this sentence into adjective, verb, noun and adverb?

Sentences:

Then Elijah build an altar to God, and he called all the people.
The false prophets failed, for their God could not hear.
No answer came from Baal, for he was not the true God.

Nouns are persons, places, and things. "Elijah," "altar," "***," "people," "prophets," "answer," and "Baal" are all nouns because they are one of these things. The word "he" is a pronoun.

Adjectives are descriptive words (for example: "red," "big," "wide") that serve to give description to nouns. "All," "false," "their," and "true" are the adjectives you used.

Verbs are words which describe some kind of action in a sentence. "Build" (should be written as "built" in order to be consistent with the rest of the story which is in the past tense), "called," "failed," "hear," "came," and "was" are the verbs in the story.

I didn't notice any adverbs in the story. Adverbs describe a verb sort of like how adjectives describe nouns. For example, "We sung happily." The word "happily" is the adverb because it is describing, or, in other words, modifying the verb "to sing."

In the first one, there is no adjectives. (an adjective describes a noun) You have 4 nouns (Elijah, altar, ***, and people) and one pronoun: he.
The verbs are: build, and called. There are no adverbs. (an adverb describes a verb)

In the second one, prophets and *** are nouns. False is the only adjective. (is describing the prophets)
The verbs are: failed and hear. There are no adverbs.

In the third one, Baal and *** are nouns and he is a pronoun. True is an adjective because is describing ***.
The verbs are: came and was. There are no adverbs. Hope this has been helpful to you.
