Breakdown of sentence

Hello I got this sentence from a teacher and i need explain each part of it to my classmate tomorrow at school. i'm confused - how would you talk about this sentence like what is the subject and what does "has been" mean.. :

the difficulties lots of them have are more obvious than has been seen until before

is this passive because of "has been"? what other components of this can i talk my friend about please? gracias!
