break magnetic field

Can you use 'break' when talking about a 'magnetic field'?

What can one do to break a magnetic field?

Does that sentence make sense and is it correct to say that?

Thank you

Fixed magnet fields can't be broken, per se, except by a magnetic field in the opposite direction, and you would have to move perpendicular to escape the field, or end up stuck on the closer magnet. Electro-magnetic fields can be broken by cutting off the electricity flow in the magnetic coils, that's the principle behind electric motors.
