Break free

"I wanna break free" I have heard this expression but I couldn't find it in the dictionary. Could someone explain what it means? Thanks in advance.

"break free" usually means to get out of a traditional or montonous way of doing something.
i hope these examples will make it clear:

(1) Waking up at 7 AM, rushing to office by 8.30 AM, returning home at 11 PM, again waking up at 7 AM......" i wanna break free."
(2) I wanna break free from this world of selfish, greedy people and live life on my own terms.

"Break free" means "escape". You can take it either literally or metaphorically as you prefer.
