Break around

Hello Guys ...

what is the meaning of "break around" in a military context .... a man flees, the persecuters shout "break around" ... does it means: follow him? oder "circle him" or what is the exact movement description??

I'm not a military person, but I do know that in situations where group members are given instructions, the last command is "break out", meaning disperse . Break around may be an extension of this, combining break out with spread out .
