Brass and copper

Hi!

Is there any difference between BRASS and COPPER?

I'm Dutch and I had to use both a English as a Dutch dictionary to find out it's still very confusing.. Since brass seems to be an alloy of copper and zinc.

(another question --> is "of" the right word to use? an alloy of copper and zinc, or would be "made out of" be better?)
