branch of Christianity

Could a native help me correct these 2 sentences please?

1 Catholicism is a branch of Christianity. All Catholics are Christians, but not all Christians are Catholics. It can be offensive to a Christian of another branch (for example, Protestant) to be described as Catholic.

Is he a branch of Christianity?

The answer is : I am Protestant. How come "Is he a branch of Christianity?" is not correct? How would you formulate the question?

2 Is he a branch of Christianity?

Thank you so much

2 Is he a branch of Christianity? No. that is ludicrous.

What denomination does he belong / subscribe to?
What is his religion?

He's a Baptist.
He's a Unitarian.
He's a Roman Catholic.
He's an Anglican.
He's not a Christian, but a Zoroastria
