Ok,
so can I say: I am playing bowling with my friends at the moment. ?

I know that some sports "go" with play, some with go and with do.

-ing goes with go, but when you want to use it in present continuous you have to use do or play, haven't you?

Say 'I am playing bowls with my friends' if you are playing the 'on the grass' kind.

Say 'I am bowling with my friends' if you are in a bowling alley, knocking down pins.

If you have a further question about this, please specify which kind of game you are talking about.
