Bottom vs bottommost--word usage

uppermost vs top; bottommost vs bottom:

The bottomost cell in Microsoft Excel...

The bottom cell in Microsoft Excel...

What is the difference? When is bottommost used alternatively? The bottom of the bottom perhaps? For instance if there were layers, you would say one particular thing is at the bottom of one layer, but another thing is in the bottommost layer? (Just a guess)

Thanks

It depends on context. I think those are used when the speaker/writer perceives that a certain degree of judgement is required to make the intended selection. I wonder?
