Both singular and plural OK?

Hi. Please help. I think we can use both the plural and singular nouns for the underlined parts. Is that correct?

1. Complete the following sentences by using the correct tense/tenses of the verbs in parentheses.

2. It seems here none is safe from disaster/disasters.

3. Put the verbs in parentheses into the correct tense/into correct tenses.

Top answer

#1 and #1 are fine either way. #2 contains a set phrase 'safe from' which usually takes non-count form of the noun, so while 'disasters' is not wrong, 'disaster' sounds much better.
