'Both for' is right?

The following sentence is in my textbook.
Both for your sake and others, you should never drink and drive.

I think 'For both your ...' is right word order, like at your house.
Because for is preposition and both is determiner.
Is that right?

Top answer

Is that right? Strictly, yes. But the form in your textbook is extremely common and almost always overlooked by native speakers.
